Home

The video Home is a metaphor for nonconformist family relations and constellations. It is centered on a non-religious wedding ceremony, attended by various figures whose gender identity is obscure. The participants in this invented ritual are, in fact, twelve clones of the artist himself. Some are blind, others choose not to see. Instead of their eyes they use different senses, communicating among themselves with gestures taken from some mysterious language.

The relationship between the figures, and their transitions between the different spaces, defy conventions and prevailing definitions of the work’s two key themes: family and home. The clones appear in a fictive space that blurs the distinction between private and public. Pets, kitchen utensils and furniture are scattered among spaces in which public and ritualistic acts take place.
